Job Title: SEN School Care

Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on experience)

Are you passionate about providing care and support to children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?
GSL Education are recruiting for a SEN School Care to work in a specialist SEN setting in Wareham, supporting pupils with complex learning difficulties and disabilities. This is a full-time, permanent role with an immediate start available.
Role Overview:
This rewarding role involves supporting students with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Sensory and Physical needs. As a SEN School Care, you will provide holistic care, help students engage in their education, and assist with day-to-day personal needs in a nurturing and structured school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 and small group support for students with significant care and educational needs.
- Assist with personal care routines, including toileting, feeding, and hygiene support.
- Support students in their access to learning, therapy sessions, and daily routines.
- Implement behaviour support plans and contribute to a calm and inclusive learning space.
- Work closely with teaching and clinical teams to meet individual pupils’ needs.
- Monitor student wellbeing and report any concerns in line with safeguarding policies.
Job Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or young people with complex SEN, care needs, or disabilities (education or care setting).
- Comfortable providing personal care and engaging in physical support activities.
- Knowledge or awareness of Autism, PMLD, or learning difficulties.
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional resilience.
- A caring, reliable, and proactive nature, with a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
