Full-Time English Teacher – Fareham, Hampshire

GSL Education are delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity for an English Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Fareham, starting in September 2025. The school is happy to consider applications from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs). The role offers a competitive salary ranging from £30,000 to £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications. Interviews will be held in the coming weeks, and shortlisted candidates will be invited for a school tour before the formal interview process.
About the Role:
This is a full-time position where you will teach English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and contributing to the wider life of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Inspire and motivate students to develop a love for reading, writing, and literature.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Create an inclusive and positive classroom environment that supports all learners.
- Participate in report writing, parents’ evenings, and school-based activities.
- Work collaboratively with the English department to share best practice and resources.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent – ECTs are welcome to apply.
- Proven experience teaching English at secondary level (KS3 and KS4).
- Strong subject knowledge of English Language and Literature.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A commitment to high standards in teaching, learning, and student achievement.
- An updated CV covering the last 10 years with no unexplained employment gaps.
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered to the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
