Full-Time History Teacher-Havant, Hampshire

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated History Teacher to join a reputable secondary school in Havant in September 2025. The role offers a competitive salary ranging from £30,000 to £50,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. This role is open to experienced teachers as well as Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to develop their skills in a supportive environment. A school tour is available as the first step of the recruitment process, followed by a more formal interview. Interviews are set to take place over the next few weeks.
In this role of a History Teacher, you will be expected to deliver engaging and well-structured History lessons that foster curiosity and critical thinking among students. The ideal candidate will have a strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom management skills, and the ability to inspire pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4. A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to helping all students achieve their potential is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging History lessons that align with the national curriculum.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Participate in parents’ evenings, report writing, and pastoral responsibilities.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters curiosity about the past
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the school’s Humanities department.
Job Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent – ECTs are welcome to apply.
- A strong subject knowledge of History, with the ability to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- The ability to inspire and engage students of varying abilities
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a stimulating learning environment.
- A commitment to high standards of teaching and student achievement
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
