Head of Computer Science
Location: Pocklington, East Riding of Yorkshire
Salary: MPS/UPS; £31,650 - £49,084 per annum
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
GSL Education are seeking a Head of Computer Science to join the dedicated leadership team of a Secondary School in Pocklington, East Riding of Yorkshire.
Head of Computer Science Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Computer Science department.
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons across KS3 to KS5 (including GCSE and A-Level).
- Monitor, assess and support the progress of all pupils.
- Lead on curriculum development, ensuring alignment with national standards and school objectives.
- Manage and support department staff.
- Work closely with the SLT to uphold the school’s values of Care, Creativity and Achievement.
Head of Computer Science Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a relevant degree in Computer Science or a related subject.
- Proven experience teaching Computer Science across at least two key stages, ideally up to A-Level.
- Leadership or curriculum coordination experience is desirable.
- Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have an enhanced child workforce DBS certificate on the Update Service or are willing to process one through GSL Education.
