Salary: £150 - £230 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
GSL Education are delighted to be recruiting an experienced and empathetic SEN Teacher to work within a welcoming and well-resourced special educational provision in Sheffield. This role offers the opportunity to make a profound difference in the lives of pupils who require additional support to access learning.
About the Role / Role Overview
As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering differentiated teaching and learning to pupils with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and complex learning needs. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support pupils’ holistic development and ensure they achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver creative, inclusive and personalised lessons aligned with individual EHCPs and learning goals.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Create and maintain a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment.
- Track and assess pupil progress, using this to inform future planning and intervention strategies.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and SENCOs to deliver coordinated care and education.
- Establish strong relationships with pupils, parents, and carers, promoting trust and clear communication.
- Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare at all times.
Job Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is essential.
- Proven experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs, ideally within a specialist or inclusive setting.
- A comprehensive understanding of a range of SEN including ASD, SEMH, ADHD, or complex learning difficulties.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to respond calmly to challenging situations.
- A nurturing, resilient, and adaptable approach to teaching.
- Excellent communication and collaborative working skills.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
