Job Title: Registered Manager – Residential Childcare
Location: Whitwell, Derbyshire – Single Occupancy Children’s Home
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per year (Depending on experience)
Start date- Immediate
About the Role:
GSL Education are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a valued client – a newly established, high-quality residential children’s home offering therapeutic support to one young person in a single occupancy setting.
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Manager to lead the home, providing consistent care and a safe, nurturing environment for a young person with complex needs. This is an ideal role for someone with strong leadership skills and previous residential childcare experience who is looking to take the next step in their career.
Key Responsibilities of Registered Manager:
- Lead and manage a team of Therapeutic Carers.
- Ensure the home maintains full Ofsted compliance and high-quality standards.
- Oversee and implement tailored care plans.
- Manage daily operations, staff supervision, and development.
- Foster effective working relationships with external agencies and professionals.
- Promote a trauma-informed, child-centred approach.
- Uphold rigorous safeguarding practices at all times.
- Be available for on-call duties and occasional weekends.
- Contribute to a structured and supportive home environment.
- Pay review after probation (6 months) and proven Ofsted-readiness.
What We’re Looking For
Registered Manager’s Essential:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
- Significant experience in residential childcare, ideally in a leadership role.
- Evidence of achieving 'Good' or 'Outstanding' Ofsted outcomes.
- Deep understanding of safeguarding, children’s rights, and trauma-informed care.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Enhanced DBS clearance (mandatory).
