Job Role: Social Science Teacher
Location: Newham
Salary: £185 - £265 per day
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Long Term, Full Time
GSL Education London Branch is excited to be recruiting a Social Science Teacher to join a high-achieving secondary school for girls in Newham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and committed Social Science Teacher to make a real impact in a well-respected and supportive school environment from September 2025.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and qualified Social Science Teacher who can confidently teach Psychology and Sociology at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. The successful candidate will primarily be delivering Psychology, with a smaller portion of the timetable allocated to Sociology.
Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality lessons in Psychology and Sociology at KS4 and KS5

Plan engaging and differentiated lessons to meet the needs of all students

Assess and track student progress to support academic achievement

Create a positive and inclusive learning environment

Work collaboratively with the department and wider school staff

Participate in school events, parent evenings, and staff meetings

Uphold school policies and contribute to the wider school ethos
Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
-
Proven experience teaching Psychology and Sociology at secondary level (KS4 and KS5)

Strong classroom management and communication skills

Ability to motivate and inspire students in a girls' school setting

A strong knowledge of the Social Science curriculum

Passion for education and dedication to student success

Must hold a valid enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
