Secondary Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant
Location: High Peak
Salary: £95 - £110 Per Day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking an empathetic and dedicated Secondary Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant to join a supportive SEN school environment in High Peak.
About the Role:
This vital role, Secondary Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant involves supporting students with a range of behavioural and learning needs, including ASD, ADHD, ODD and SEMH. Working closely with a small team, you will help create a safe and stimulating learning environment. You may also be asked to step in to deliver lessons to small groups or individuals during staff absence.
Your Responsibilities are:
- Provide tailored support to pupils in 1:1 and small group settings
- Assist with classroom routines and lesson preparation
- Lead learning sessions when necessary in absence of teaching staff
- Build positive relationships to support social and emotional development
- Manage behaviour calmly and effectively using strategies provided
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and outside agencies
Secondary Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant Requirements:
- Experience in a school or SEN setting as a Secondary Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant is essential
- Must hold a full driving licence, access to a vehicle, and business insurance as this role is based on Mileage Paid
- Knowledge and experience working with ASD, ADHD, ODD, and SEMH needs
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 (desirable)
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, growth-focused attitude
- Enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willingness to apply)
