Salary Range: £13.68 - £14.88 per hour (Depending on Experience)

Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are welcoming applications for a SEN Learning Support position in Romsey, ideally suited to individuals who are committed to promoting the well-being and development of children and young people with a range of additional needs. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to work within a specialist provision or mainstream school setting, depending on your experience and preferences.
About the Role:
The successful applicant will work as part of a dedicated SEN support team, delivering tailored assistance to pupils who may have Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language Needs, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, or Moderate Learning Difficulties. The role involves both in-class support and small group or one-to-one work, depending on the individual needs of the pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent support to pupils with SEN to enhance their learning experience and encourage progress.
- Assist in implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and behaviour strategies.
- Foster a calm, structured, and supportive environment conducive to positive learning outcomes.
- Monitor, record, and report pupil progress to teaching staff and SENCOs.
- Contribute to the creation of a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning atmosphere.
- Engage in training and reflection to continuously improve support strategies.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ideally in a school or educational setting
- Knowledge of a variety of learning difficulties, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech/language needs
- Calm, patient and empathetic approach to working with children
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A relevant qualification in childcare, education, or support work is advantageous
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
