Salary Range: £13.68 - £14.88 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a committed and empathetic individual to take on a SEN Learning Support role in Hedge End. This is your opportunity to make a tangible difference to pupils' academic journeys and personal growth.

About the Role:

As an SEN Learning Support professional, you will work closely with students who require tailored assistance to engage fully with the curriculum. This role focuses on both academic guidance and social-emotional support, helping pupils with SEN thrive in a structured and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualised support for pupils with a range of SEN in classroom and intervention settings.
  • Assist in implementing EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) strategies and behaviour support plans.
  • Collaborate with class teachers, therapists, and senior staff to ensure consistent progress.
  • Foster emotional regulation and confidence through structured routine and positive reinforcement.
  • Monitor and document pupil progress, providing feedback and contributing to review meetings.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment at all times.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or a related discipline is desirable.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN in either an educational, healthcare, or residential setting.
  • A calm, resilient, and adaptable nature, capable of managing challenging behaviours with empathy and professionalism.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols (training can be provided).
  • Understanding of various Special Education Needs conditions, including autism and ADHD, etc.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
