About the Role
As a Psychology Graduate, you will play a vital role in supporting students with emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs. Working closely with teachers and pastoral teams, you’ll help create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Your role may involve one-on-one mentoring, small group interventions, and supporting students with special educational needs (SEN), including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to develop tailored support plans for students with additional needs.
- Deliver targeted interventions to support emotional regulation, social skills, and resilience.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them engage positively with their learning.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
- Monitor and record student progress, sharing insights with staff and parents to ensure consistent support.
- Work alongside external professionals such as educational psychologists, counsellors, and social workers to provide holistic support.
Requirements
- A degree in Psychology or a related field.
- Experience working with children or young people, particularly in educational or care settings.
- A strong interest in mental health, behaviour support, and inclusive education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting students.
- Additional training in safeguarding, SEN, or mental health is desirable.
