Responsibilities of the role:
- Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students, ensuring all students are motivated and challenged.
- Organise and supervise extracurricular sports activities and events, fostering a sense of curiosity and enthusiasm for physical fitness.
- Monitor and assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external partners to enhance the PE curriculum and support student development.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to participate.
- Promote health and safety in all activities, ensuring students understand the importance of safe practices.
Requirements of the role:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or equivalent.
- Experience in teaching Physical Education is essential.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- The ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their best in PE.
- Commitment to promoting a love for physical fitness and a curiosity about the world of sports.
- Relevant qualifications or training in physical education (desirable but not essential).
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
