Advanced Teaching Assistant
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £83 - £100 per day
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent
Are you a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? If so, join committed team at our Client Secondary School in York as an Advanced Teaching Assistant, starting as soon as possible.
Advanced Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with special educational needs.
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons.
- Assist with the planning, preparation, and adaptation of learning resources.
- Deliver targeted intervention programs to individuals and small groups.
- Track and monitor progress towards life-skill goals and/or EHCP.
- Use specialist strategies to manage behavior and promote positive interactions.
- Supervise students during activities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
Advanced Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
- Specialism in SEN and/or EAL is desirable.
- Proven experience working in an educational setting.
- A strong understanding of SEN and strategies for supporting students with diverse learning requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one through GSL Education.
