Primary SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Rotherham
Salary: £86 - £100 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and caring Primary SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary SEN TA) to join schools in Rotherham. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to support children with additional needs and to be part of a nurturing and supportive team.
About the Role:
As a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work one-to-one or in small groups with pupils who require additional help due to SEN. You will assist in managing behaviour, adapting resources, and supporting pupils emotionally and academically throughout the school day.
Primary SEN TA Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with special educational needs in a primary school setting
- Deliver tailored interventions and learning support under teacher guidance
- Encourage pupil engagement and promote positive behaviour
- Work closely with SENCOs and class teachers to meet EHCP targets
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Record and monitor student progress and behaviour
- Assist with personal care where necessary
Primary SEN Teaching Assistant Qualification:
- Experience working with children with SEN, particularly in a primary school environment as a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant
- CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance is desirable
- A degree in Psychology, Education or in a similar field
- Strong understanding of various special educational needs (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, etc.)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
