An experienced SEN Teaching Assistant is required in Bovington!

If so, GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to join schools in the Bovington area.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with class teachers and the school’s SENCO to support pupils with special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and emotional or behavioural challenges. You may be supporting pupils one-to-one or in small groups, helping them access the curriculum and develop social and emotional skills.

Responsibilities of Special Needs Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide tailored support to students with a range of SEN, both in class and in small group settings
  • Support the delivery of lessons and adapt resources to meet pupils' individual needs
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
  • Promote positive learning behaviours and encourage student independence
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Monitor progress and communicate effectively with teaching staff
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment at all times

SEN TA Requirements:

  • A degree in Psychology, Education or a similar field
  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with SEN as a SEN Teaching Assistant is desirable
  • CACHE Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous
  • A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
