Location: Southbourne
Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time / Permanent

GSL Education are currently seeking a committed and compassionate Classroom Support Worker to join a vibrant and inclusive school community in Southbourne. About the Role:
As a Classroom Support Worker, you will play a key part in supporting pupils across a range of subjects, assisting them to overcome barriers to learning. You’ll be working closely with teachers to provide tailored academic and pastoral support, with the goal of helping all learners reach their potential—particularly those requiring additional help or with special educational needs (SEN).
Responsibilities of Classroom Support Worker:
- Provide in-class support to pupils with a range of learning abilities
- Deliver small group and 1:1 interventions to promote engagement and understanding
- Assist teachers in preparing resources and adapting materials for differentiated instruction
- Monitor and record pupil progress and behaviour
- Support the emotional, social, and personal development of pupils
- Encourage positive learning behaviours and help maintain a supportive classroom environment
- Supervise pupils during transitions, lunch, and outdoor activities when required
- Collaborate with SENCOs and teaching staff to ensure individual learning plans are followed
Job Requirements for Classroom Support Worker:
- Previous experience working in a school, care, or youth setting as a Classroom Support Worker is desirable
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (preferred but not essential).
- A degree in Psychology, Education or a similar field.
- A patient, nurturing, and resilient attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A good understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management
