Role: Teacher of Science
Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire
Salary:
 £30,000 - £46,535 per annum (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver dynamic Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics in line with the national curriculum.
  • Encourage curiosity and enthusiasm for Science, helping students reach their full potential.
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit varying learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
  • Evaluate student progress through assessments, providing constructive feedback to support growth.
  • Foster a structured and engaging learning environment that promotes academic and personal development.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow educators to enhance student learning experiences and share innovative teaching strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to school policies, including safeguarding and behaviour expectations.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), ECT status, or a recognised overseas teaching qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Science education.
  • Ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and contribution to the school community.
  • Experienced TA/CS are also encouraged to apply.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
