Job Title: SEMH Behaviour Mentor
Location: WF4 (Wakefield area)
Rate: £86 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Start Date: Immediate

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive school in WF4. This is your opportunity to help students overcome challenges and thrive both academically and personally.
About the Role
As a SEMH Behaviour Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEMH needs. You’ll work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to provide tailored interventions, promote positive behaviour, and help students develop the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.
Key Responsibilities of SEMH Behaviour Mentor
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support their emotional and behavioural development.
- Deliver targeted interventions and mentoring sessions to help students manage their emotions and behaviour.
- Support students in the classroom and during unstructured times, promoting engagement and positive interactions.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement behaviour support plans and strategies.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to staff and parents/carers.
- Work with external agencies and professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
Requirements of SEMH Behaviour Mentor
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications or training in behaviour management or mental health support are desirable.
