Position: SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teacher
Location: WF4 (Wakefield area)
Salary: £150 - £230 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

Your Mission

As a SEMH Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex emotional and behavioural needs. Your mission is to create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment where every student feels valued and empowered to succeed.

What You'll Do

  • Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to SEMH students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes emotional well-being.
  • Use therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches to support behaviour and learning.
  • Track and assess student progress, celebrating achievements and identifying areas for growth.
  • Work closely with support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure holistic support.
  • Stay informed on best practices in SEMH education and behaviour management.
  • Encourage the development of social skills, resilience, and self-confidence.

What You Bring

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs or in alternative provision.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Empathy, patience, and a passion for inclusive education.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
