Be the Helping Hand in the Classroom – Classroom Support Needed!

GSL Education are looking for a proactive and caring Classroom Support to join a welcoming primary school in Wimborne. This position is perfect for someone who is enthusiastic, patient, and eager to gain experience in education—ideal for support staff or university students. You’ll play a key role in helping students stay engaged, feel confident, and make steady academic progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in mainstream lessons across various subjects, ensuring access to the curriculum.
  • Deliver one-to-one and small group support to pupils who need additional help academically or emotionally.
  • Assist the teacher in managing classroom activities, behaviour, and resources.
  • Encourage student participation and engagement through positive reinforcement.
  • Contribute to the development of learning strategies and personalised support plans.
  • Observe and record students’ progress, reporting feedback to teaching staff and SENCOs.
  • Uphold and promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and school policies.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and positive attitude.
  • Flexible and responsive to the needs of both students and staff.
