Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Bournemouth
Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time/Permanent

If so, GSL Education are inviting applications for a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a specialist educational setting in Bournemouth. In this rewarding role, you will work closely with students who have a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social-emotional or behavioural challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with special educational needs.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering differentiated lessons tailored to students’ abilities.
- Promote independence, confidence, and emotional well-being in pupils.
- Help implement and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Encourage positive behaviour and support the development of social skills.
- Liaise with SENCOs, therapists, and external agencies as needed.
- Ensure safeguarding and health & safety protocols are always followed.
Requirements that GSL Education looking for:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN in a school, care, or residential setting is preferred.
- A caring, patient, and flexible approach to working with pupils who require extra support.
- Understanding of conditions such as autism, speech & language delay, or SEMH needs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
- Relevant qualifications or training (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach) are advantageous but not essential.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
