Job Title: Disability Teaching Assistant

Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are inviting applications for the position of Disability Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school community in Bournemouth. Working closely with teaching staff and SEN professionals, you will help create a nurturing and accessible learning environment that empowers every student to engage confidently in school life.

Your key Responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with disabilities, both in and out of the classroom.
- Adapting learning activities and resources to meet students’ individual access needs.
- Supporting with mobility, communication aids, and personal care as required.
- Encouraging independence and boosting self-confidence in a sensitive, respectful manner.
- Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to deliver tailored education plans.
- Monitoring and documenting pupil progress, behaviour, and well-being.
The Successful Candidate should have:
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities in education, care, or healthcare settings is highly valued.
- Understanding of a range of disabilities, including physical, cognitive, or sensory impairments.
- A proactive and compassionate approach to supporting diverse learning needs.
- Relevant training (e.g., manual handling or BSL) is beneficial but not essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
- Have an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one through GSL Education.
