SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Ashford
Salary: £83.33 - £89 per day
Start date: Immediately
Contract: Full-time, Part-time, Supply, Long-term

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning at a welcoming school located in Ashford. The selected candidate will be working as part of an energetic team to encourage and enable young pupils who have SEN to become independent learners and reach their highest potential.
The school aims provide a personalised approach to education, ensuring their students receive the very best support and encouragement in their learning which engenders excellent progress in their academic, personal, social and spiritual development.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to:
- Provide 1:1 support to pupils when required
- Document student progress and collaborate with lead teachers to recognize issues that students face and recommend solutions
- Oversee pupils during non-classroom times including in-between classes, during lunch, and on-field excursions
- Assist the teacher with the planning, development and delivery of lessons
In order to be considered for the SEN Teaching Assistant role, the candidate must:
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Have a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs
- Meet GSL’s safer recruitment background checks
- Have a Child Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
- Be committed to safeguarding
- Be adaptable, enthusiastic and enjoy working with young people of all backgrounds
