Head of Maths
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: MPS/UPS; £31,650 - £49,084 per annum
Are you an exceptional Mathematics teacher ready to take the next step in your leadership career? GSL Education are currently recruiting for Head of Maths to work at an Ofsted Rated “Outstanding” Secondary School located in York, North Yorkshire.
Head of Maths Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and develop the Maths department in line with the school’s vision and values.
- Drive attainment and progress across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Ensure high-quality teaching and learning through effective monitoring and support.
- Inspire and develop a team of committed Maths teachers.
- Use data effectively to track progress and identify areas for intervention.
Head of Maths Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
- Proven experience of teaching Maths to GCSE (and preferably A-Level).
- Demonstrable success in raising pupil attainment and leading initiatives.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and develop others.
- A commitment to inclusive education and supporting pupils of all abilities.
- Hold a Child Only DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education.
