Science Teacher - Sheffield
Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Salary: £140 – £190 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Easter Term 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term, Part-time / Full-time

Are you an enthusiastic Science Teacher ready to inspire and challenge GCSE students? GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and engaging Science Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Sheffield from Easter 2025.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced educators and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) alike who are committed to delivering high-quality science education and nurturing students’ curiosity in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Key Responsibilities of a Science Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons to GCSE students.

  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of learners across all ability levels.

  • Prepare pupils for GCSE examinations and track their academic progress.

  • Incorporate practical experiments and digital tools to support understanding.

  • Manage behaviour effectively and maintain a positive classroom environment.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents to support student progress.

Requirements of a Science Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics.

  • Experience teaching GCSE Science (ECTs are welcome to apply).

  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for the sciences.

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

  • A ten-year career history with references covering the last two years, including your most recent role.
