The Role:

As a Teacher of History, you will play a vital role in delivering lessons across Key Stages, helping students understand historical events, concepts, and their relevance in today’s world. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified teacher to deliver engaging history lessons that inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for the subject.

Responsibilities of a Teacher of History:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 curriculum
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Contribute to the wider school community and extracurricular activities
  • Collaborate with department colleagues to develop schemes of work and resources
  • Uphold the school’s behaviour policy and promote high expectations

History Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in History or a related field
  • Experience teaching History in a UK secondary school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for the subject
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
