SEN Teacher
Location: Hull
Salary: M1 to UPS3 per annum (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-Day/Long Term, Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education are currently looking to appoint a skilled SEN Teacher to work in a welcoming and student-focused school based in Hull. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in a nurturing educational setting and enjoys helping pupils overcome learning barriers.

The client school provides an inclusive, supportive, and specialist learning environment for pupils who require additional academic and emotional support. Responsibilities of SEN Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to students’ EHCPs and individual needs
  • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teaching assistants, and external professionals
  • Support academic, social, and emotional development
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to annual reviews
  • Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment
  • Implement behaviour strategies that promote a positive learning atmosphere
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers and provide regular updates on progress

Requirements for SEN Teacher:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching children with special educational needs (SEND), preferably in an SEN school or provision
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and differentiated instruction
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
