Primary Teaching Assistant
Location: Scunthorpe
Salary: £88.94 – £104.84 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day/Long Term, Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting for committed and caring Primary Teaching Assistants to work in primary schools across Scunthorpe. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young learners and contributing to their academic and personal development.

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pupils, delivering support that encourages a love for learning, confidence, and inclusion. The role suits individuals who are patient, organised, and eager to help children thrive.

What you have to do as a Primary TA:

  • Provide classroom support to the teacher and pupils
  • Deliver one-to-one or small group interventions
  • Assist pupils with their learning activities and understanding
  • Encourage good behaviour and classroom engagement
  • Help manage classroom resources and displays
  • Support pupils with additional learning needs or barriers
  • Participate in planning and assessment discussions where required

Primary Teaching Assistant (Primary TA) Requirements:

  • A degree in Education, Psychology or in a similar field.
  • Previous experience in a school or childcare setting as a Primary Teaching Assistant or similar is preferred
  • CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistant (desirable)
  • A calm, supportive, and flexible approach to working with children
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
