Job Title: SEN Primary Teaching Assistant
Location: High Peak
Salary: £100 - £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP or September 2025
Contract: Day-to-Day/Long-Term, Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education are welcoming applications for a SEN Primary Teaching Assistant to begin this September in a warm, inclusive primary school in High Peak. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the development of pupils with a range of additional needs.
Please note: a driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality 1:1 or group support to children with a range of SEN.
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering differentiated lessons and interventions.
- Adapt materials and strategies to support varying needs and abilities.
- Help manage challenging behaviour and emotional regulation using positive support techniques.
- Support the implementation of Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) for specific pupils.
- Encourage pupil confidence, independence, and engagement with learning activities.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
- Be available to travel between school sites or work across different classes as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school environment.
- Valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle – essential.
- Knowledge of various SEN needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language, and SEMH.
- A patient, empathetic, and child-centred approach to support.
- Good behaviour management and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
