Job Title: Graduate of SEND
Location: Scunthorpe
Salary: £88.94 - £104.84 per day (Depending on experience)
Start: After May 2025 Half Term
Contract: Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a motivated and compassionate Graduate of SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) to join a dedicated school community in Scunthorpe.

As a SEND Graduate, you will support children and young people with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs. You will work closely with experienced teachers and SEN professionals, playing a crucial role in helping pupils thrive both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support tailored to each learner’s needs.
  • Assist with the delivery of personalised learning plans and classroom activities.
  • Support the development of pupils’ communication, social skills, and confidence.
  • Help manage behaviour using de-escalation and positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and record student progress in collaboration with the teaching team.
  • Participate in daily routines, therapy-based sessions, or off-site learning when required.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A degree in SEND, Education, Psychology, or a related subject.
  • A genuine interest in working with children and young people with additional needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment.
  • Previous experience in a school or care setting.
  • Have an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
