Job Title: English Teacher
Location: Chichester, West Sussex
Salary: £30,000 - £46,535 per annum (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate/September 2025
Contract Type: Full time (Part-Time can be arranged for the right candidate)
GSL Education are looking for a passionate and motivated English Teacher to join a friendly secondary school in Chichester. The school offers a supportive environment with a strong focus on both academic progress and student wellbeing. Candidates from diverse backgrounds are welcome – whether a fully qualified teacher (QTS/ECT), someone with overseas teaching experience, or a skilled Cover Supervisor (CS) or Teaching Assistant (TA) looking to transition into a teaching role, applications are encouraged.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Teaching English to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Designing lessons that challenge and inspire young learners.
- Encouraging a love for reading, writing, and exploring texts.
- Monitoring student progress and supporting their development.
- Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Collaborating with colleagues on planning and curriculum delivery.
- Participating in whole-school activities and enrichment opportunities.
What We’re Looking For:
- A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent) OR relevant classroom experience in a UK secondary school.
- A degree in English, Literature, or a related subject.
- Confident classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
- A passion for helping students build skills in analysis, communication, and creative expression.
- A strong team player with good communication skills.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
- A full CV that covers the last 10 years (or your entire work history) with any gaps explained.
