Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Chichester, West Sussex
Salary: £94 - £140 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate / September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time (Part-Time can be arranged for the right candidate)
GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Cover Supervisor (CS) to support students at a welcoming Secondary school in Chichester. In this role, you will help students learn and grow, ensuring each day in the classroom is engaging and productive. You will play an important part in creating a positive and structured learning environment, helping students feel confident and supported. Using your skills, you will guide them through lessons, answer questions, and maintain a focused classroom atmosphere. We provide a supportive workplace where your efforts are valued, and you can make a real difference in students' education.
Duties of the Role:
- Supervise and manage classrooms during teacher absences, ensuring students stay on task.
- Maintain a positive and structured learning environment, following school policies.
- Support students with their learning, ensuring they complete assigned work.
- Handle classroom behaviour effectively, promoting respect and engagement.
- Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and classroom behaviour.
- Assist with general school duties, such as break-time supervision when required.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning atmosphere for all students.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Confident in managing classrooms and maintaining a calm, positive learning environment.
- Genuinely passionate about teaching and making a difference in pupils’ educational journeys.
- Previous experience in teaching or classroom support is highly valued, especially for those seeking flexible work arrangements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Capable of delivering engaging, pre-planned lessons across different subjects and year groups.
- Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is a welcome advantage.
- A degree or relevant teaching qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Must have a current CV detailing the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps, and hold (or be willing to apply for) an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
