Job Title: Secondary Teaching Support
Location: Eastleigh, Hampshire
Salary: £12.82 per hour
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time/Permanent (Part-Time can also be arranged for the right candidate)

GSL Education are seeking a motivated and reliable Secondary Teaching Support professional to work in a dynamic mainstream secondary school in Eastleigh.

As a Secondary Teaching Support staff member, you will assist class teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons. You will work closely with students, providing one-to-one or small group support to help them meet their academic and personal development goals.

This opportunity is ideal for university students, recent graduates, or individuals passionate about working with teenagers in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities of a Secondary Teaching Support:

  • Assist students across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 with their learning
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to support lesson delivery and classroom management
  • Provide additional academic and emotional support to students who need it most
  • Encourage a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Track student progress and feedback to relevant staff members
  • Help prepare classroom resources and materials

Skills & Requirements for Secondary Teaching Support:

  • Previous experience working with secondary-aged students as a Secondary Teaching Support is beneficial
  • Suitable for graduates or current university students studying in Education, Psychology, English, Maths, or related fields
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or Childcare.
  • Ability to be proactive, patient, and supportive in a fast-paced environment
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one
