Job Title: SEN Learning Support

Salary Range: £13.68 - £14.88 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

About the Role:

As an SEN Learning Support, you will support pupils both in and out of the classroom, contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment. This position involves working closely with pupils who present a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), speech and language difficulties and emotional and behavioural challenges.  

Your Role Will Include:

  • Providing individualised or small group support to pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties
  • Supporting pupils in and outside the classroom with their academic, behavioural, and emotional development
  • Assisting with personal care and physical support when needed
  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to adapt learning materials
  • Monitoring and documenting student progress and well-being
  • Promoting a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment

Job Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN in an educational or care setting
  • Knowledge and understanding of various learning and behavioural needs
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and use initiative effectively
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., in childcare, support work, or education) is advantageous
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
