Job Title: SEN Learning Support
Location: Southampton
Salary: £13.68 to £14.88 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long Term, Full-Time/Part-Time

GSL Education are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support staff for schools in Southampton.

As a SEN Learning Support, you will play an essential role in supporting students with a variety of special educational needs, such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties. Whether you're working one-to-one or with small groups, your contribution will help foster an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment where students can thrive.

What you have to do as a SEN Learning Support:

  • Offer tailored support to students with special educational needs in one-to-one and small group settings.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and targeted learning strategies.
  • Promote student independence, academic engagement, and positive behaviour in the classroom.
  • Support students with personal care and mobility needs when necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure each student's needs are met.
  • Track and report student progress to contribute to ongoing development and interventions.
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all students.

What we need from SEN Learning Support:

  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN as a SEN Learning Support in an educational or care setting.
  • A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships.
  • A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to working with students with additional needs.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
