Teaching Assistant
Location: Grimsby
Salary: £88.94 – £104.84 per day (Dependent on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a committed and proactive Teaching Assistant to work in vibrant and inclusive primary and secondary schools across Grimsby. Whether you are looking for flexible day-to-day work or long-term roles, we are here to support your journey in education.
As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work closely with class teachers and other support staff to provide high-quality classroom support. You’ll assist pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development, helping to ensure every child reaches their full potential.
Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:
- Support class teachers in delivering engaging and well-structured lessons.
- Work with individual pupils or small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom displays.
- Provide one-to-one support for pupils who may need additional help.
- Foster positive relationships with pupils to encourage their enthusiasm and confidence.
- Monitor and report pupil progress to teachers and relevant staff.
- Uphold school behaviour policies and support the creation of a safe and positive learning environment.
- Support children during break times, school activities, or educational trips when required.
TA Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people in a school or similar setting as a Teaching Assistant is desirable.
- A relevant qualification such as CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ in Supporting Teaching and Learning is advantageous.
- A degree in Education, psychology or a similar field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A positive, patient, and flexible attitude towards supporting children’s learning.
- Ability to follow instructions while also using initiative when needed.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new one.
