Location: Grimsby
Salary: £120 – £130 per day (Dependent on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are currently looking for a passionate and motivated Primary Early Career Teacher (ECT) to work in welcoming and well-resourced primary schools across Grimsby. Whether you are seeking flexible day-to-day supply or a long-term opportunity, we are here to help you take your first steps into the classroom with confidence.

As a Primary ECT, you will have the opportunity to build valuable classroom experience while developing your teaching practice. Working across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, you will be supported in your role by experienced colleagues and receive ongoing feedback and guidance. Primary Early Career Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across KS1 and KS2, aligned with the National Curriculum.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and learning.
  • Use assessment strategies to monitor pupil progress and plan for future learning.
  • Develop strong relationships with pupils to support their academic and personal development.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, phase leaders, and support staff to maximise learning outcomes.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events as required.
  • Uphold the school’s values and policies, including those relating to behaviour, equality, and inclusion.
  • Show a commitment to continual professional development and reflective practice.

Requirements for a Primary ECT:

  • A recognised UK teaching qualification such as QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), PGCE etc.
  • Recent or relevant teaching experience during placements or internships across UK primary schools.
  • A good understanding of the National Curriculum for primary education.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to teaching and learning.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply for a new one.
