Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: High Peak
Salary: £95 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Working Hours: 37 hours per week, 8:30am – 4:20pm
GSL Education are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Primary Teaching Assistant to join a warm and welcoming primary school in High Peak. If you're passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and want to make a real difference in the classroom, this role could be perfect for you.
As a Primary TA, you’ll provide essential support to pupils with additional needs, helping them to engage in learning and build the confidence to thrive both academically and socially. You’ll work one-on-one and in small groups, closely collaborating with teaching staff to create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Please note: A full UK driving licence is required for this role, due to travel between school sites or off-site sessions.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide one-on-one and small-group support to pupils with SEN across Key Stages.
- Implement tailored learning strategies based on individual education plans (IEPs).
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student growth.
- Monitor and record student progress, sharing regular feedback with teachers and parents.
- Support classroom activities and help prepare engaging learning resources.
- Promote student independence, social development, and confidence.
- Collaborate with the wider school team, including SENCOs and external professionals.
Position Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children in a primary setting, especially those with SEN, is highly desirable.
- Must hold a valid UK driving licence and be willing to travel if needed.
- Strong understanding of personalised learning and SEN support techniques.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom support skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and respond positively to challenges.
- An up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, with any gaps explained).
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
