Primary Teaching Assistant
Location: Rotherham (S60)
Salary: £86 – £100 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are currently seeking a committed and compassionate Primary Teaching Assistant to join welcoming primary schools in Rotherham (S60).
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with experience working in early years or key stages 1 and 2 who are keen to help pupils reach their full potential. Whether you are a qualified Teaching Assistant or have relevant childcare experience, this role could be your next exciting step.
Primary Teaching Assistant (Primary TA) Responsibilities:
- Support pupils’ learning and development under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
- Deliver small group interventions in literacy, numeracy, and phonics.
- Create a positive and engaging classroom environment.
- Assist with classroom preparation and the organisation of resources.
- Encourage good behaviour and provide emotional support to pupils.
- Monitor and report on student progress to teaching staff.
- Help with playground supervision and transitions during the school day.
Skills & Requirements of Primary TA:
- Prior experience working with children in a school or similar environment as a Primary Teaching Assistant.
- Teaching Assistant qualification (CACHE/NVQ Level 2 or 3) preferred but not essential.
- A degree in Education, Psychology or in a similar field.
- A calm, caring, and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with pupils and staff.
- Commitment to helping children achieve their best in a safe, supportive space.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
