Primary Teaching Assistant
Location: Rotherham (S60)
Salary: £86 – £100 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join supportive primary schools in Rotherham (S60). This role is perfect for individuals who are eager to help children reach their full potential in a nurturing and engaging environment. As a Primary Teaching Assistant (Primary TA), you will support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons according to primary key stages, assist with pupil learning and development, and provide individualised support to children. This role is ideal for someone with a nurturing nature, strong communication skills, and a genuine desire to make a difference.

Responsibilities of a Primary TA:

  • Work closely with class teachers to support teaching and learning in the classroom according to primary key stages
  • Deliver targeted interventions to small groups or individual pupils to boost learning progress
  • Encourage positive behaviour and foster a supportive classroom atmosphere
  • Assist in preparing classroom resources and maintaining an organised learning environment
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil development and progress
  • Help pupils build confidence and develop independent learning skills
  • Support during playtimes, lunchtimes, and school trips as required

Primary Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting as a Primary Teaching Assistant.
  • A degree in Education, Psychology or in a similar field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A patient, caring, and resilient attitude
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
