Salary: M1 to UPS3 (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are looking for an enthusiastic History Teacher to join secondary schools in Hull, starting September 2025. Whether you are seeking a full-time or part-time position, we offer both day-to-day and long-term contracts to suit your availability and preferences.
As a Teacher of History, you will have the opportunity to create exciting and engaging lessons that foster a love for the subject and a deep understanding of historical events, people, and cultures. You will guide students through the complexities of history, encouraging critical thinking, analysis, and a deeper appreciation for how the past shapes the world today.
Responsibilities of Teacher of History:
- Teach History across Key Stage 3, 4 & 5
- Develop and deliver creative, engaging lessons that align with the national curriculum and foster historical inquiry
- Encourage students to critically analyse and evaluate historical events, sources, and perspectives
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student participation and inquiry
- Assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them develop their skills
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Humanities department and contribute to the wider school community
- Organise and lead extracurricular activities such as history clubs, trips, or debates
Requirements for History Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised qualification
- A degree in History or a related field
- Experience in teaching History at Key Stage 3, 4 & 5
- Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and inspire students
- A commitment to delivering high-quality lessons and helping students achieve their potential
- A passion for history and fostering a love for the subject in students
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
