Assistant Headteacher – Behaviour & Attendance
Location: Fulford, North Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: MPS/UPS; £31,650 - £49,084 per annum
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent
GSL Education are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Headteacher to lead on Behaviour and Attendance to work at a Client School in Fulford, North Yorkshire starting in September 2025. This is a pivotal role in the senior leadership team, where you will shape and implement a whole-school approach to behaviour and attendance, ensuring every student is supported to thrive.
Assistant Headteacher Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the school’s strategic behaviour and attendance policies.
- Lead and manage a consistent whole-school approach to positive behaviour for learning.
- Oversee and monitor student attendance data, working with families and external agencies to reduce persistent absence.
- Line manage and support pastoral teams including Heads of Year, Attendance Officer, and Behaviour Support staff.
- Be a visible presence around the school, modelling high expectations and supporting a positive climate for learning.
Assistant Headteacher Requirements:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven experience of middle or senior leadership, preferably within a pastoral role.
- Strong knowledge of behaviour management systems and current attendance frameworks..
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Experience working effectively with families, external agencies, and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and inclusive education.
- Have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
