Location: Dorchester
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum (MPS/UPS) (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate/September 2025
Contract Type: Permanent/Full-time

About the Role: As an SEN Teacher, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality education tailored to the needs of students with special educational needs. You will work closely with a team of dedicated professionals to create engaging and effective lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that inspire students to learn and achieve their potential.
- Provide one-on-one and group instruction tailored to students’ needs, ensuring they receive the support necessary to succeed.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed to ensure each student is progressing towards their learning goals.
- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to each student’s education and well-being.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and motivated to participate.
- Use a variety of teaching methods to engage and motivate students, catering to different learning styles and preferences.
- Keep detailed records of student progress, including assessments, observations, and feedback, and communicate this information to parents and relevant parties.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Prior experience in teaching students with Special Educational Needs is essential.
- Excellent communication skills for effectively interacting with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong, supportive relationships within the school community.
- Deep commitment to helping students develop their skills, exhibiting patience and enthusiasm.
- Relevant qualifications or training in special education (desirable but not essential).
- An updated CV covering last 10 years with no unexplained gaps.
- An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply for a one.
