Full-Time Secondary Welfare Support Assistant – School in Chichester, West Sussex!

If so, GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic full-time Welfare Support Assistant to work in a secondary school in Chichester, West Sussex (PO18). This rewarding role offers a competitive annual salary between £21,500 to £24,500 and is set to start ASAP.

Responsibilities of the Welfare Support Assistant (WSA):

  • Provide support to students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Be on call to help support students across the school.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other support assistants to ensure a smooth running of the school day.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.
  • Manage and support students' behaviour in line with the school's policies.
  • Offer guidance and assistance to students as needed.

Requirements of the Welfare Support Assistant (WSA):

  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting, or transferable skills from roles such as youth worker, social worker, or pastoral background.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting students.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
