Salary: £88.94 - £104.84 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Primary Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Scunthorpe. This full-time role provides a fantastic opportunity for enthusiastic individuals with a passion for education to support pupils in their learning and development.
About the Role:
As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you’ll work alongside dedicated teaching staff to support pupils across Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2. You will play a key role in helping children access the curriculum, stay engaged in their learning, and grow both academically and socially in a safe, nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist class teachers with planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
- Provide targeted support to pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to raise attainment.
- Help manage classroom behaviour, encouraging a positive learning atmosphere.
- Support children with varying needs, including those with SEND or EAL.
- Prepare learning resources and contribute to displays and classroom organisation.
- Monitor pupil progress and report observations to teaching staff.
- Supervise pupils during break and lunch times when required.
- Encourage pupil independence, confidence, and participation in school life.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a school or educational setting is desirable.
- A strong interest in working with children in a primary school environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptability, patience, and a proactive approach to challenges.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning is desirable but not essential.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
