Salary: £86 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are welcoming applications for the Early Years Teaching Assistant role in a warm and welcoming primary setting in Rotherham. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification and are eager to contribute positively to the early educational experiences of young learners.

About the Role:

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant (TA), you will play a key role in supporting children aged 3–5 as they take their first steps in a structured learning environment. You will work closely with the classroom teacher and other early years professionals to foster a stimulating, secure, and inclusive atmosphere that promotes curiosity, exploration, and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum in line with national standards.
  • Assist in planning and delivering engaging activities that encourage physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development.
  • Promote a safe, nurturing environment where children feel valued and confident.
  • Monitor and document children's progress and share observations with colleagues and parents as needed.
  • Support individual children or small groups with specific needs or developmental goals.
  • Foster positive behaviour, independence, and social interaction among pupils.
  • Ensure hygiene routines and safeguarding protocols are consistently followed.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and contribute to a positive team spirit within the setting.

Job Requirements:

  • Must hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare.
  • Previous experience in a nursery or Early Years setting is highly desirable.
  • A genuine love for working with young children and a warm, patient approach.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Knowledge of the EYFS framework and how to apply it in a classroom setting.
  • Flexibility, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
