About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant (SEN), you will work alongside the class teacher to support pupils who need extra help with their learning, communication and development. You may provide one-to-one assistance or work with small groups, adapting activities to suit individual needs and helping pupils take an active part in lessons. Your patience, encouragement and consistency will help create a positive experience for children who benefit from additional support.

  • Assist the class teacher with classroom activities and lesson preparation.

  • Adapt learning tasks to meet pupils' individual abilities and needs.

  • Support communication, social interaction and emotional development.

  • Monitor progress and share observations with the class teacher and wider support team.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is desirable.

  • An understanding of additional needs, including autism, ADHD or learning difficulties, is advantageous.

  • A patient, caring and adaptable approach.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to follow individual support plans and work collaboratively with teaching staff.

  • A genuine interest in helping children access education and reach their potential.
