GSL Education is currently recruiting a Year 4 Teacher for a primary school in Colchester, starting in January 2027.

This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate. The successful applicant will take full classroom responsibility for a Year 4 class, including planning, teaching, assessment and pupil progress.

The school is looking to interview candidates now, so early applications are encouraged.

The Role

  • Take full classroom responsibility for a Year 4 class.

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum.

  • Assess, monitor and record pupils' progress and attainment.

  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs and abilities of all learners.

  • Establish and maintain positive classroom routines and behaviour expectations.

  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues and the wider school team.

  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers where required.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Has experience teaching within a primary school setting.

  • Ideally has experience teaching Key Stage 2, particularly Year 4.

  • Is confident taking full responsibility for a class, including planning and assessment.

  • Has strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • Is organised, proactive and committed to supporting pupil progress.

  • Is looking for a full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent.

Experienced teachers and ECTs with QTS are welcome to apply.
