Salary: £460–£650 per week (depending on experience)

Are you confident leading a classroom and ensuring pupils remain focused and engaged with their learning?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are currently seeking a reliable and adaptable Cover Supervisor (CS) to work in an amazing school in Worksop. This role would suit someone who can confidently supervise classes, deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and maintain a positive learning environment in the absence of the regular teacher.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play an important role in maintaining continuity in pupils' education. You should be comfortable taking responsibility for a classroom, managing different groups and ensuring that pupils make productive use of their lesson time.
Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor:
- Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff.
- Distribute and explain pre-prepared lesson materials.
- Ensure pupils remain focused and complete assigned tasks.
- Maintain classroom routines and promote positive behaviour.
- Follow school policies and report any concerns to relevant staff.
- Respond calmly and confidently to classroom challenges.
- Help maintain a safe and productive learning environment.
Requirements for the Cover Supervisor role:
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- Confident communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to supervise groups and maintain professional boundaries.
- A flexible, organised and responsible approach.
- Ability to follow lesson plans and school procedures.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
