GSL Education is currently recruiting Nursery Assistants to work on a flexible supply basis across nurseries in Harlow and the surrounding areas.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking for flexible work who enjoys working with young children and wants to gain experience across different nursery settings. Whether you are available for a few days a week, occasional cover or more regular bookings, we would love to hear from you.
We work with a range of local nurseries and early years settings, helping to provide staff to cover planned and last-minute absences, busy periods and additional staffing requirements.
The Role

Support children aged 0–5 with their daily routines and activities.

Assist with planning and delivering fun, age-appropriate play and learning activities.

Help create a safe, caring and stimulating environment.

Support children's communication, social skills and early development.

Assist with mealtimes, personal care and daily routines.

Encourage positive behaviour and interaction between children.

Work alongside nursery practitioners and other staff to support the smooth running of the setting.

Follow safeguarding, health and safety and nursery policies.
The Ideal Candidate

Previous experience working with young children in a nursery, childcare or early years setting.

A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach.

An understanding of children's development and early years learning.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Reliable, flexible and comfortable working in different nursery environments.

A genuine interest in supporting young children's learning and development.
An early years or childcare qualification would be beneficial, although we would also welcome applications from candidates with relevant childcare experience and transferable skills.
